This is a fairly new unit, I don't believe that it has ever burned anything.
I went to the drive's properties and went to the Recording tab and the "enable CD recording" was checked. I tried to install new drivers, but was told I had the latest drivers.

What CD Burning software are you using? If none, that could be the problem.
-
I have Nero from LG installed and have tried to "write these files to CD" Both unsuccessful.
I am familiar with burning as I have 2 other computers, but have not had this happen before to them.
Running Xp Home on all.
-
Check your configuration from within Nero to make sure that your drive is being seen correctly and DMA is active.
-
When I click a music file and click add (in Nero) it says: out of memory
And to reopen after it freezes after I (ctrl + alt + del)
I open and it says "another application is currently using the windows buring engine (IMAPI) Please quit... blah, blah, blah.
-
Uninstall Nero, reboot and reinstall it. That can help without delving into the intricacies of "making it work".

Uninstalled...reinstalled Same messages
I think the problem may lie here:
Open My computer...reads: CD drive (D): with an icon that reads CD-R, SHould the part that reads CD drive (D): Read: CD-R Drive?

I'm having a similar problem with my computer. I too have Nero and I have been able to copy CD's ok but all of a sudden it has stopped working, it prepares the CD for burning but when I put a blank one it, it will not do anything. I'm really stuck and don't know what to do.

conficts issue......between roxio<easy cd> embbeded in wmp9/10 and nero.........pay neros website<ahead.com> for a patch.....

If I uninstall Nero...could I just copy the desired files to the file then click "write these files to CD"? By doing this now WMP pops up.
