Title: Convert a Dual Core Processor to a Quad Core
Post by: Ashutosh32 on January 23, 2010, 07:54:49 AM
Read here (http://forums.amd.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=16&threadid=120360) and some other places that a semiconductor die is common in the x2, x3 and x4 Phenoms which makes it possible to turn the x2 into a x4 as the only difference is a blocked core or two.

I would like to know if its possible on this motherboard and configuration.
Processor: AMD Phenom x2 545 (OC'd to 3.2 GHz and testing)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2P REV1.0
RAM:  2 GB DDR2 (Dynet) (Set multiplier to 4x so 800 MHz)
