Title: Dell Dimension L600CX beeping code error
Post by: Sartana on November 15, 2008, 09:41:19 PM
When I unplug my Dell Dimension L600CX (running Win 2000 Pro), then plug it back in, I hear it power up, but then I get three short beeps, then a pause then repeat. It's like a continuous: beep beep beep...beep beep beep...beep beep beep. There is no formal boot, just the beeps. I have to unplug it again to turn it off. However, when I plug it back in again, it fires right up perfectly and seems to work fine.

This seems to be the pattern: unplug it, then back in: beeps. The second unplug/plug in produces a perfect boot and run.

What could be going on here?

Three beeps usually mean a ram problem. You may want  to look here
