Title: MMO games that are free?

I'm interested in playing MMO games, but I can't stand the thought of paying $50 (or more) for a game only to then have to pay a monthly fee just to be able to play the game.  Maybe I'm a cheapskate, but whatever...  Are they any good MMO games that don't have a monthly fee?

I could be wrong but I think I recall someone telling me once that Guild Wars didn't have a monthly fee.

There are plenty of free MMO games available.  But what genre are you interested in?  FPS...RPG...RTS...?
