Title: How to repair windows vista using installation disc?

I want to repair my windows vista using the command prompt in windows recovery disc. Can anyone tell me the commands to repair system files in detail. I have windows vista ultimate service pack 2.  this is the exact error msg. I cant logon to windows in any mode          file\windows\system32\drivers\msahci.sys     status: 0xc000000f     windows failed to load because a system file was corrupt or missing.  please help me as soon as possible

The repair install will do what you need...
Or are you just experimenting ? ?

In hp forum i got that solution using command prompt we can repair it. I have vista sp 2 the vista disc wont work and i dont want to go through the hassles of slipstreaming one. I want all the commands in detail for it?. One more question can i uninstall programs installed on my pc with a bootable disc such as hiren boot cd which has your uninstaller in it?

I just used the recovery disc and replaced the corrupt system file with the file on the disc and then used startup repair. It restored my computer to an earlier date. Now everything is fine. THANK YOU
