Title: kdcom.dll
Post by: guaranteed on December 06, 2010, 06:19:10 PM
I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite A105-S3134. Running Windows Xp media center.
System had a virus and Malware so ran Malwarebytes and removed all found problems. McAfee is antivirus. Turned off system and next day will not boot.
Will go into cmos-yes
Will not read CD Rom or boot from.
Will not go into safemode but will hang on kdcom.dll
Have no way to get to dos or repair
NOw will not go into boot menu (F8)
When I go into (F12) and select cd rom it tries to load with Intel boot agent but then goes to error of Bad media or blank screen.
I would not think that changing out memory or HD would make any difference but not for sure.
Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply but I cant access anything so cant follow directions given from Toms Hardware. I have changed out memory and reseated HD as well. I am suspecting a bad cd rom but being a laptop I dont have another to try with. If I could access Cd rom and get into repair council or use a linex Cd I could replace files as necessary. At this point I cant even format and replace OS. Am looking for new or borrowed Cd rom.
