I recently installed a new Hard drive to my computer a Gateway running Windows 2000. Before the new harddrive when I clicked the shutdown button my computer would shutdown completely. Now when I click the shutdown button, it shuts down but I then have to press the button on my tower to finish the shutdown. Is there a way that I can get it back to shutting down without this extra step.
Thanks
Eric

Try enabling APM in the Control Panel Power Settings.
How to Enable Advanced Power Management in Windows 2000 and XP (http://support.premiopc.com/faqs/w2k-apm.htm)

Is this a new OS install or is it an additional HDD?

Thanks Mac, I'll give that a try. And Fred it is a new OS installation.
