I have an HP Compact - Evo computer, running Windows XP. I need to uninstall it so I can install Windows 98. I have an old CAD program written in DOS but only has drivers up to Windows 98. I've tried to boot the computer and press F8 to get into the configuration area of the computer, but everything I've selected still opens Windows XP and I can't install 98 with XP open.

Can you boot from the 98 CD? I did that with 2000 a few times, once when the OS was so broken it wouldn't boot. ;)

I'm not very intelectual when it comes to installing and uninstalling OS, but maybe you need to uninstall XP before 98, although the XP cd is recognized on windows 98...

Disregard the above.
Do you really want to go back to 98, because of one program?
Try DOSBox: http://www.dosbox.com/
