I'm pretty sure the Ram is installed properly.
Does this mean the Ram is newly installed? Your post isn't clear about that, unless I missunderstood.
-
turn the computer off
open the case
take the ram out
put it back in
close case
and try it again
-
no the ram is not newley install!
and i think my computer is seeing it but not using it
HOW do i utilize the ram?
-
Your screenshots are very blurry. I can't read them well enough to comment.

Try running Everest Home Edition (http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fmajorgeeks.com%2Fdownload4181.html&ei=DwmGSKHKK6G4iAGLvqCoBQ&usg=AFQjCNG2VGY74pk3LyV-oUvnmcebiGkI9w&sig2=ZFO_HIS3NvMTgI_ule6zOw) and post the results concerning memory.
-
Open Task Manager to the Performance Tab. How much physical memory does it show?
-
dude i posted the pic
and also the pic is not blurry if u look close it says 6 gb on the my computer and 2 gb @ task manager
-
Dude, post a picture, where we can see something.
I can (barely) see 6GB listed, but task manager picture is totally unreadable.

OK for some1 with so many experience u shuld noe this little trick
right click>copy image location,
paste it in adress bar and press enter.
the image shuld be much bigger.
THIS FORUM RESIZES PICS SO EVEN IF I POST A ENORMOUS PIC ITS STILL TOO SMALL FOR UR EYES.

I see no reason for personal comments...
In any case...
Run msconfig and go to the tab labeled "boot". Go to "Advanced options" and make sure the "Maximum memory" checkbox is unchecked.
-
thanks much i unchecked it now i just need to wait for the results!!!
-
why do you need to wait?
it ether worked or it didnt
-
Yeah. Restart computer, and check Task Manager>Performance
-
why do you need to wait?
changes in MSCONFIG require a restart

Excellent.
I assume, some limit was set under "Maximum memory", correct?

yup, now i can utilize all my memory thnx!!!
LOL u guessed it right on first try!!!
-
I'm not even sure why that setting is there, to start with. I can't think of any possible reason.
I may want to Google it, time permitting.
-
maybe for running old programs that can only run in small ram
or for othe debugging reasons
-
That setting is for a computer not for a particular program.
-
maybe its to see how the computer preforms on lower ram
-
I think you have 2GB of paging.
