I need to replace my hard drive. It is a Samsung 60gb model SV6003H.
It has a 39pin connector and a 4 pin connector with an 8 pin between the
4 and 39 pin connectors.
What type of HD do I look for? I don't know how to identify if it is a
SATI, EIDE, etc. I haven't been able to determine this.
I've been looking for info/pictures of connectors with no luck. Can you help
identify this HD type for me. Where is a good place to hunt down this
information for future searches for HD, DVD, etc.?
Thanks,

That ''8 pin'' sounds like your jumper setting pins. Should be a diagram on HDD label to show jumper options using a jumper connector. .... often no jumper connector can mean master.
The multi pin connection you describe should be EIDE and the 4 pin other the power connector.
The ''newer'' SATA data connection is small and very different and does not use the ribbon type cable - and the power connector (plug) is not the semi clear plastic with two blacks and yellow and red.
