A great way is to install the updates.

Really, you should keep your computer updated. Updates keep you secure, and prevent hacking exploits.

Why you don't want to install updates?

If it doesn't work, you can always remove SP3 from the list.

Patio prefers to spell the English word "click" thus: "clik". I don't know why  ;)

Are you running XP Media Center Edition?  I know SP3 tends to cause a lot of problems with it...

If not, you should just make your own SP3 slipstreamed XP using nLite: http://www.nliteos.com
