Title: LCD tv used as monitor & tv. Color spiking/overly bright
Post by: Kron on July 20, 2009, 07:48:43 PM
First, we tested on another LCD tv and the problem is the same. Several weeks ago when using tv as pc monitor excessive light blue would occasionally appear. That went away and it changed to a bleached out look. Changed the VGA cable and it made no difference. Tonight we got both problems at once. The set up has worked with no problem for over a year with no problem. Video card bad?  Any help would be appreciated.

It could have fried the input on the TV, leaving the set fine for other inputs.

LCD TV's do not all like having computers or consoles attached.  It depends on the set.

We thought that might be the case and tested on another tv. Same thing happened.

What output options do you have on your video card?

VGA. Is that one of the options?  It's a three year old system so there is no hdmi.

Do you have the option for S-Video?

Double check your resolution as well, you shouldn't drive it harder than 1024x768, unless it specifically states that it can handle a higher resolution.
