Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right section for this topic but here it goes..
For example, when I type:
1) "t or T" in google search bar, the t will redirect my insertion point to the URL.
2) "q" on everywhere I type, turns out the "Find" function
3) On notepad, and probably some other places, "3" churns out the automated date/time
4) "u" seems to link to F7 in my Firefox and IE web browser
Abt 7 hours ago when I switch my laptop off to sleep, it was still alright. When I switched it on this morning, this happens. It's a major
disruption to my work.

I realised that a few of my keyboard keys are conjoined together, except when I type them in some places like Notepad. But even during so some keys are still affected.
p seems to be connected with alt.
u with F7
t with F6
end with left directional button
q with control+F
Some others I may not have discovered, but it seems that when I type too quickly, some more things happen, which I can't explain, like the program running minimizes itself.
On-screen keyboard works okay, but it is not usable when I run some full screen programs.

'Fn' can change 7-7 8-8 9-9 *
then 6=O 5=1 4=U
and L= 3 K=2 J=1
and M= 0
I fail to see the relevance.

If I am not mistaken, do you mean holding down "fn" and pressing the numlock one time and see if there are any changes?
I tried this method but it failed. Kinda desperate now.

Yes that was what i meant. I note Mulreay's comment re that and i can only say that once i too had the problem of keys misbehaving and that instance was solved by the method i stated. However obviously it does not apply to whatever is your issue. Have you tried an external USB keyboard to see if it does the same?truenorth

Ok, thanks for ur suggestion. An external USB keyboard does solve the problem. ;D
But the problem is, I need the laptop for portability... so I can't just bring around an external USB keyboard to use. Any suggestions?

What's the brand and model of your computer?
When you have the usb keyboard plugged in, is the light above the Num Lock key on? Try plugging it back in and press the Num Lock key. Make sure that the light above the Num lock key is off, then disconnect the keyboard.

Acer Aspire 4740G. The laptop keyboard was acting funny before I plugged in the external USB keyboard.
I suspect that something is wrong with the laptop keyboard, it should have nothing to do with the external USB keyboard.

Doing further research on your behalf i have come across another possible area to investigate. This is a direct quote from another Microsoft Forum.
"If this is happening only in Word, then it's not due to the keyboard setting
in Windows (unless you're pressing a key that switches keyboard layout). You
might check your keyboard settings in Windows Control Panel to make sure
that you don't have any other keyboard enabled or any shortcut key enabled
for switching keyboard layouts."

I'd agree, if any of the key behaviour they were witnessing corresponded to another keyboard layout.
The keyboard is either loosely connected (on the inside) or broken. This is only reinforced by the fact that an external keyboard solves the problem, which means it's not software, either.
