Title: Problem With Only Booting From Disk
Post by: Nugzy on October 20, 2006, 07:25:17 PM
Hi there, i have a wierd problem. For some reason, ever since i formatted my computer, it only boots up when the windows XP cd is in. when i take it out it gives me an error before start up, along the lines of, "ERROR READING DISK, INSERT SYSTEM DISK". How do i fix this problem, so that it boots naturally?

Thanks

Did you use a real Windows CD that says Microsoft all over it? What boot order is set in the BIOS? What happened requiring a Windows install? That and a lot more details are needed.

See below.

When your computer is booting up there is a button that you can click to view and edit your bios configuration. On some computers it is the Delete key, or some others n F key such as F1 F2 F3 Make your floppy set to 1st     HD set to 2nd    CD set to 3rd    and if you can, check to search for other boot devices.  Try reatsrting and tell us what happens.
