Post by: xfisthebest on November 16, 2018, 03:25:45 AM
The speed on transfer of files within the hdd (transferring from one folder to other) it starts from 30+ MB/s and  becomes less then 12MB/s even 0-40kbps  :-\  this is my laptop a dell m6400 workstation in the above image are it's brief specs.

Why do you need to transfer files?
Are you making a copy? Or did you try to move the files?
Poor transfer speed like yu describe, where it slows down at the end, may indicate a hardware issue.
Here is a link that might relate to your problem:

He was told that it is normal, then he wrote back:

This is NOT normal! Have had this computor for over 10 years before replacing the first hard drive. First hard drive did the same, I would hear it speed up and stay at that loud speed, got very loud, that's why I replaced it. Friend said the hard drive was going . Never got this loud of sound before, and on graphic games will cause a lot of lag and sometimes freeze up the computer.
Does that sound like your problem?
My suggestion is this; Get an exact replacement for the hard drive and make a 'clone' of the original drive. Then swap out with the new drive. If I am right, that will speed up your hard drive transfer speeds.
I hope this helps.  8)
Here is one of the free programs I like:

The free version is good enough.

Drive could be old, full, fragmented. No details given about drive make, model or percentage full.

Move will always be quicker than copy on the same drive.

True..but if he wants copies then copy them to a thumb drive...then copy back to the drive would be quicker as well...

You did not make that clear. You just wrote "transfer" which could mean either move or copy.

A friendly suggestion: your big red font is a good way to get NO MORE HELP.

You need to answer these questions (you have been told but failed to respond):

What is the drive make, model and size?

How much free space is left?

Are the files large, small, or mixed sizes?

it's 2009 model. free space: 100+gb. Total space 250+ gb. File transferring is big.

What does "big" mean? 1 GB? 10 GB? 100 GB? Why don't you say make and model? Is it the standard disk supplied with the machine?
