Title: Advent 9315 screen
Post by: Mulreay on December 15, 2009, 07:47:35 AM: Ok so I arrive in London with my large bag that contains one laptop. Walking across the road and 'snap' the strap snapped 'crash'. Thought nothing of it at the time but when I set my laptop up... see pic.

Is it worth replacing the screen on something like this and is it a big job?

Post by: Mulreay on December 28, 2009, 07:37:08 AM: Ok ran into a snag of sorts. Ordered the screen which will be here tomorrow. Now I can't undo one of the two screws on each side of the screen. Tried 3 different types of micro screwdrivers and it's getting to the point that I'm running a risk of rounding them off. Are there any tips to get these little.... things out before I break something else. Also is there a chance there could be a nut on the other side so would have to access it that way?

And there's me thinking the clue was in the title. It's an Advent 9315.

Post by: Mulreay on December 31, 2009, 03:26:44 PM: Well I got my new screen. I fitted it as well. Very happy with myself. Unfortunately I did take some pics but as they were done with a 14.6mp camera they take to long to upload.
All I had to do was remove the screen bezel, still a job and a half.
