I have 2 computers. One is a Windows 98SE and the other is a Windows XP. I saved all my images to a zip disk from the 98 machine and loaded them on to the XP machine. I am getting an error when I attempt to open these bitmaps. "Paint cannot read this file. This is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not currently supported" I have searched everywhere and can not find any info as to why this is happening or a fix for it. Any ideas?

Have you tried saving them and transfering them again? Sometimes you will just get a bad copy.

Try using another disk, that happened to me once and I found out it was the disk which didn't work.

What file extension did you save the image under? (.gif , .jpeg , etc. )
