Title: extremely slow internet
Post by: nancy cesear on June 18, 2004, 09:55:21 AM
I have cable internet so that it is faster than dial-up but,all of the sudden, it is very slow in loading pages.  Could the problem be with Norton Internet Security? Or, any othe ideas why it would be so slow.  Cable company has been out and the modem is fine.

Could you elaborate on that?

Did the situation occur almost immediatly after Norton Internet Security? If it is, then it is safe to assume that Norton Internet Security has not been properly configured.

Probably means the Cable company has been to her house and the modem checks out ok.

Uh oh.. here comes another discussion on video cards *jk*

I'd point fingers at Internet Security.

1) Peak hours (lots of other people online)
2) Super big website you're trying to access
3) A chokepoint on your modem
4) Crappy video card
5) Just about anything else

I can live with that.
