ive reinstalled an OS 3 times now and i always have the same problems afterwards and i always have to ask for help (except for the graphics driver i got that one after the first time) anyways i used Belarc to get my system specs so you could help me fix: Ethernet Controller, Multimedia Audio Controller ,network Controller,SM Bus Controller. I have wireless internet coming from the computer im currently on to my computer then my computer has a LAN (LAN is on the motherboard) going to my sisters Laptop which i still have to fix...So i also need help on getting my wireless receiver and card thing to work. I don know what type of wireless card i have so if you could help find that it'd be appreciated (its probably on the Belarc report which ill be putting up.) i really dont know what im talking about with any of this so ill just put up the belarc thing and be quiet

What brand, and model of your computer?
-
Something missing in Everest report...
There should be info about "Network" (between "input", and "Peripherals")
-
umm my brother actually made this computer he lives in Japan so i dont know where he got the parts or anything, but i needed a different motherboard for some reason so got my motherboard here. and i found the same problem under the device manager there was no Network Adapter i think it was called
-
First of all, it looks like you need to buy, and install network card.
You'll need install your chipset (nVIDIA nForce3 250Gb, AMD Hammer) driver).
Then, there is a sound issue:
Audio Adapter Creative SB Live! Sound Card
Audio Adapter nVIDIA MCP2-S - Audio Codec Interface
It looks, like you have on-board sound (nVidia), and a sound card (Creative). If you want to use Creative card, you need to disable on-board sound in BIOS.
-
i dont need a network card it was working perfectly before this...
http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,57447.msg361156.html#msg361156
then i reinstalled with XP home edition instead of the pro i had before and every time after i install an OS i always have trouble with these divers. the way my brother set it up is have a wireless that receives internet from my parents computer (which im on now) wireless then i have a LAN goin to my xbox and that receives internet too (but only when my computer is on) so i know i dont need anything else i just want to restore my computer to how it was before my password randomly changed, i backed everything important up in Gmail

ooooh yeah i remember now, sorry. anybody have any suggestions/. somewhere in ll the reports on my omputer ive been looking through i found the wireless card type (Broadcom 802.11g) and downloaded about 3 drivers and none of them work because the net work controller is still a problem device. I fixed the ethernet controller now all i need is Sound (sound card is Creative SB Live, its reached its end of service life or something i got a driver but still no sound) and my wireless card to work so i can connect to my parents' wireless network..it makes it harder because my parents' computer uses in2K and they dont trust anyone to mess with their computer, like changing the OS. problem devices now are Multimedia Audio Controlle, SM Bus and Network Controller. What is SM Bus anyways?
-
Re-install the MBoard drivers and then any leftovers after that...
MBoard drivers (complete) need to go first.
-
im guessing MBoard means motherboard right? how many are there for a motherboard normally i dont want to miss any. and i realized i am an idiot because i opened up my case to the motherboard type and i realized i wasnt plugging my speakers into the sound card and then i plugged my speakers into the sound card and now the sound is all fuzzy and indistinguishable, ii used the song A.M. 180 by GrandDaddy to test and i can hear the beeping at the beginning but i can barely hear the lyrics at some points in the song the rest of the time i cant hear it at all. i have a Creative SB Live. Thank You
-
Look up the drivers for this motherboard, MSI K8N Neo (MS-7030), by typing it into your search facility and adding the word drivers. Choose a link from the manufacturer, MSI. Please ensure you have the right drivers listed before you download.
If you have issues with downloading motherboard drivers, keep trying.
Alternatively, right click on 'my computer' and click on 'manage'. Select device manager, and then check under drivers for any yellow question marks. If any appear, right click on them and select update driver. This may or may not work, and you should be connected to the internet whilst trying this. If the parts on the board are bazaar, then chances are that you may have to download optional drivers... IE, realtek for sound devices, etc.
Good luck.... 8)

thank you again io got all the drivers but the *censored* multimedia audio controller and SM Bus still arent working. i have 1 main p[problem right now if i can get help with this i can solve the rest myself. this whole time ive been getting on my parents' computer when they left home and its really slowing down my progress so i decided to knock everything out today, i brought my computer into my parents' room and hook up my computer to theirs via LAN and get internet on my computer and get all the drivers alot easier but i got all the drivers but for some reason the device manager still doesnt pick up my wireless card if i can just get my wireless card working everything else will fall into place, please help me with that PLEASE.
