Title: Wireless is connected, but doesn't work

Hi, I am having difficulties connecting through wireless. My main computer is currently hooked up with ADSL modem with Linksys wireless-G router. On at lower right corner, the local area connection has the exclamation mark saying something like limited connectivity. I tried power cycle, reset modem but it doesn't work and also, I tried to login the router setup with 192.168.1.1, 192.168.2.1 and 192.168.0.1 and it didn't work... Are there any suggestings that I should do to solve the problem?

try uninstalling the driver for it and reinstall it go into device management and click on your network card and uninstall it I had a similar problem and it worked.

Make sure you have the latest drivers installed from the manufacturers website. Also Goto Start - control panel - system and maintenance - device manager. Make sure none of the drives have a exclamation mark.

everything is up to date... I am on my other computer and on the wireless network list, my internet is listed there...it connects but doesn't work... :(

what firewall are you using cause some of them can cause this. I'm going to school for this and my instructor said that some 3rd party firewalls can do this if not configured correctly

only the windows firewall is turned on

You stated you are using the Linksys wireless-G...
Have you tried using the "Easy link" software that comes with it?
I believe there is a button on the front of the router marked "easy link", should start the program. Maybe you can trouble shoot from there. GL

Some details please.
What model of Wireless router?
Can you get internet directly from the ADSL Modem?
If so, what is the ipconfig when you are on the modem?
Remember, when you change anything you have to restart windows.
Also, you have to force IE to refresh. It is very lazy.

Yes, I can go on the internet when I connect the modem directly to the cpu

Short answer:
Run cable to the RT54Gl. Nothing else.
rest or power cycle both PC and router
(default IP is 192.168.1.1).

The user is admin and password is.
Trun off DCHP on the router
Reset router IP to either
169.254.51.101
or
169.254.51.75R
recycle router. Test new IP
plug DSL into LAN, not WAN
reset modem
tray again.
