I'm getting really conflicting results with my game performance. So far I'm able to run Devil May Cry 4 on the lowest settings but not Morrowind on the lowest settings. Medievel Total War 2 will work on the lowest while Shogun TW (much older game) won't work on the highest. Games that work fine on my much older laptop, like Dawn of War or Warcraft 3 run jittery on my new one.

Intel video chipsets are horrible for gaming. Depending on what your old laptop had, this may be the reason games like Dawn of War and Warcraft 3 are jittery.

...and in general, laptops are not designed for gaming...

Also some older games do not like duo core. To play Thief 2 I have to turn off 1 of my CPU's to make it run properly. I can help you do that if you want it's not hard and your only turning the 2nd CPU off for that game not for the whole system.

Okay so I figured out the problem. Turned out I set my performance settings to low to save power for a car journey :P Got rid of the general jumpyness on a lot of the games at least. Thanks anyway.
