Title: BIOS
Post by: Curtis Wolff on June 30, 2004, 04:22:59 PM
Okay, but how do I open up the bios?  I looked it up, and t said when my manufactuers logo (IBM) comes onto the screen when starting computer, press a certain button (for me, F1) and you will get to the bios.  However, in my windows XP, the IBM logo does not come up.  I've tried pressing F1 during the Windows XP logo, but no luck.

Is there another way to get there?

Please help, thank-you  :)

There is only the one way to get into the BIOS.  Some BIOS' allow you to turn off computer manufacturer splash screens (ie, an IBM symbol) so you may not see this.  You're doing the right thing - just a little too late. Tap the F1 key repeatedly and fairly quickly (2-3 times per second) from the moment you hit the power key.  You should enter the BIOS within 10 or so seconds (before you hear the computer 'beep' to indicate it has passed the Power On Self Test) or you'll have to reboot and try again.
