Title: No sound
Post by: abitha on December 04, 2012, 09:19:23 AM
So i leant my folder against my keyboard which pressed some keys. This caused a blue volume sign to appear on my screen. When I took my folder off, all sound was muted and has been ever since. I know it's not the mute key with the little speaker sign with the cross through it, but I don't know if there if any other keys which can mute the sound.
Also when I click on the volume sign at the bottom of my screen it says the sound works, but no sound comes out! I've got a computer (not laptop) so I know some shortcut keys for sound are different for computer / laptop
Someone please help!

As you correctly note the  issue's resolution can vary from computer to computer (and you don't tell us what you have). So here is a link to a general p[process for restoring computer sound. Hope it helps.

Thanks, I think my computer is a Windows Xp. I had a look at the website but nothing seemed to work, are there any other possible answers?

Yes I checked the speakers on the control pannel and it says that it's working but when I tested it, there is still no sound

When you followed the instructions in the video to determine what volume level was set in the "playback" mode what level did you set that to?truenorth

100 on both the speakers and the SPDIF, although the speakers have a green tick while the SPDIF hasn't got one but still says it is working, would that effect anything?
