Title: Horizontal Black Line on Monitor
Post by: techchallenged on September 28, 2008, 10:23:48 AM
The computer monitor developed a horizontal white line across the entire screen, between the middle and lower third of the monitor.  Nothing has been done to display configuration in the control panel.  System Info follows:

Microsoft XP Home Edition
Dimension 4600C
Pentium 4 CPU, 2.4 GHz
640 MB RAM
Radius 17" Monitor

Does anyone know how to remove the line.

In your title, you say the line is black, but in the post underneath you say it is white.

Good point.  The line is black.

This is an LCD monitor, right?

1. Try the monitor on another computer. If the line is still there, the monitor is faulty and needs replacing.

2. Try another monitor on your computer. If that shows a line too, then you have a problem with the display hardware in your computer.
