I cant burn cds; I've tried many programs, and there seems to be no answer. I'm sure someonet knows something to try. Please please help, it's extremely frustrating.
-
hi hbeelner,
could you please state the programs you have tried?
i am familiar with windows media player 10, i will give you a walkthru on how to burn a cd using that.
1. open songs you would like to burn in windows media player 10 (WMP10)
2. on the right hand side of WMP10 you should see the "now playing list". if not, enable it by clicking the < icon just below the butterfly.
3. click the song on the top of the list, then scroll down to the bottom of the list and hit shift + left mouse button. the entire list should now be highlited.
4. right click on the now highlited list and select "add to" then "burn list".
5. select the "burn" tab on the top of WMP10. the songs you selected should now be under "burn list".
6. on the right hand side of WMP10 you will see a drop down menu bar. (above where it says insert a blank cd into the drive".) select whatever drive your cd burner is on.
7. insert a blank cd
8. click the "start burn" icon above the burn list
9. your done!!!!
P.S. make sure you are using a CD-R or a CD-RW.
P.S.S. if you are using a CD-R, make sure it is brand new, once a CD-R has been copied to, nothing more can be copied to it. it "locks" itself.

thank you, however I know how to burn cds. My problem is that my computer wont complete burning them. I have already wasted about 50 cds also many brands, so I know thats not the problem. I have also tried lowering the speed, however it did not do anything. Do you know a bigger problem that could be affecting this?
-
what are you trying to burn? audio, video, or games?
^this is an important question.
-
If you have tried many different media brands and several different programs, deductive reasoning suggests that the issue is with the burner/interface itself.
Download Nero InfoTool. (http://www.cdspeed2000.com/files/NeroInfoTool_403.zip) It will tell you the exact model, firmware version, supported read/write features and modes of your drive among other things.
It will also tell you if ASPI is installed and working properly. You should also check the manufacturer's website for firmware updates.
-
Sorry Homer, I didin't see you had asked that in the first reply. I
am trying to burn audio.
-
JPH, thank you for the program, however I dont know what to do even though I have these answers. The ASPI is not installed. Could you tell me how to install this if this is important?
Thank you.

Can you please post the exact model of your burner and firmware version?
-
hmmm audio cd's not wanting to burn. have you EVER been able to burn cd's? from the sounds of it, it might possibly be a defective burner.
-

What do you hope to find out by knowing the firmware version? :-?
-
I was looking for the model # ...i'm still not convinced he has a burner.

Is it possible to try to burn a CD with a normal CD-ROM drive and then end up no longer being able to use them?
My problem is that my computer wont complete burning them. I have already wasted about 50 cds also many brands
I never tried doing that before, but would it be possible?
