Title: MS office vs open office
Post by: freedom07 on July 26, 2010, 11:42:52 AM
my laptop came with a trial version of MS office 07. I am in school, and use a lot of Word for school. When i am not at school i save a lot of information to a thumb drive, so i can continue the work on my laptop. Can i move documents back and forth from word and open office without loosing work, or data corruption?

Yes, recent versions of Open Office recognize and can save in the Word 2007 .docx format.

Yes.

Since you are a Student you should inquire at the bookstore about a full copy of Office 2010...the discounts for Students are substantial and should be taken advantage of whenever possible....matter of fact grab Win 7 as well and save it for your next upgrade..... ;)
