Title: opening in safe mode post virus
Post by: eameln on September 19, 2008, 08:59:29 AM
My Acer aspire was attacked very quickly by the "AntivirusXP2008" virus. Now I am unable to open in Safe mode as recommended by Norton. After choosing any of the safe mode options I get the page of code which either freezes or goes into a blank screen.  what can I do?

How long does the screen of code appear for? It make take a minute for windows to get into Safe Mode.

Longer than 1 minute, what may be the reason for that?

You're not being patient enough...if safe mode has not been used in awhile or if you are recovering from an infection it can take upwards of 12 minutes...
Try again and grab the Adult Beverage of your choice...
