Title: How to format a Windows partition?
Post by: nicoovillarr on July 02, 2018, 02:18:53 PM
Hello,

I would like to format Windows 10, but I also have a partition installed with Kali Linux. However I do not care if Kali Linux is also uninstalled, but I do prefer to format only the Windows partition. I just want to know the right way to do it.

Best Regards,
Nicolas V.

I would prepare a Gparted bootable CD and format the partition using that.

I'm assuming this Win10 partition is currently in use and after the format, you'll be reloading Win10?
if that's the case, why not just do the reload and during that process, Windows offers the option to play around with partitions.  (create, delete...)

Just wondering if you could just pop in the windows 10 cd or usb, boot to it, and delete all the partitions and stuff the win10 setup sees so that it's just one big unallocated space and install windows 10 onto it.

Assuming you would like to start from nothing.
