hi i have a toshiba satelite l300 and my webcam is not recognized in the device manager. there is one unknown device in Universal Serial Bus Controllers. I tried to install the original driver from the toshiba suport site and when i run the aplication it says web camera initialized failed please check your camera device and restart application
-
i also tried with installing a new copy of windows and it didnt help after i installed the OS the old drivers were there and web still doing same
-
All laptop drivers should come only from the laptop manuf. site...
Each time you re-install Win the drivers need to be re-installed.
Use the Driver CD that shipped with the laptop...if you don't have it visit the Toshiba site for the ones you need...Chipset drivers go 1st...then all others.
-
the point is that when i reinstall the OS the drivers are allredy installed i do format the C partition but i cant erase the drivers in order to install them again
-
this is print screen from device manager i thing that here is my problem

Just re-install them...it'll overwrite the others...make sure they are correct for your Model # and OS.
-
all my drivers are from the official toshiba site but the problem is that the laptop is not asking driverrs for the webcam it doesnt reconize it could this problem be from bios update i did earlier the bios is also from the toshiba website
-
help anyone please i need my camera i don't want external camera cos i travel a lot
-
Did you do what was suggested above ? ?
The BIOS has absolutely nothing to do with your issue...
P.S. ...If you did an incorrect BIOS flash all bets are off.
-
i did reinstall all drivers even from the webcam although it is not recognized and the system doesn't look for them i'll say again that the webcam is recognized as unknown device just like on the print screen i send earlier
-
The webcam drivers may be part of the MBoard chipset drivers...
Again...did you re-install ALL the drivers listed for that Model ? ?
Chipset drivers 1st...then re-boot and do all others.
-
it is chicony webcam it's not a part of a motherboard drivers and yes i reinstall all the drivers
-
Then the Cam is dead...
