Post by: geriann on December 04, 2015, 02:28:38 PM
i've tried to get on Facebook today [4th Dec] between about 1am-9pm, but i just get a white page saying...

This page can’t be displayed

•Make sure that the web address https://www.facebook.comis correct.
•Look for the page with your search engine.
•Refresh the page in a few minutes.

...so i can'r get on Facebook at all.

i can get on all other internet pages, just not Facebook.

what's going on?

No, it is not down.
Presently there is a lot of people looking a Facebook. A whole lot.
Mark Zuckerberg faces criticism over his $45 billion pled (http://www.cbsnews.com/news/mark-zuckerberg-responds-to-critics-of-facebook-shares-donations/)g
...and
Introducing Live Video and Collages (http://newsroom.fb.com/news/2015/12/introducing-live-video-and-collages/)
You can just Google "facebook" and gets lots of results. Including pages from facebook.
You may be having trouble with you network. Try other sites, including sites you do not often visit. You browser may be using only data from your cache. This makes it seem the some sites work and others don't.

For future reference.
When  any web site goes down, check to see if it have a page on Facebook and they might have an explanation.
Otherwise, one can use a proxy server to see if it is visible in another area. Sometimes that happens.  :)
