Title: Switching from nVidia to ATI
Post by: bootzy on March 06, 2005, 07:13:49 PM
I'm helping a friend with his computer and he had an nVidia card but is upgrading to an ATI...when he put the card in the monitor would not display anything upon boot.  I'm assuming this is because he still has nVidia drivers installed and needs ATI drivers.  How would we go about replacing the drivers?

Put your old card back in, and when the computer starts, go to the device manager, and find the video card... Now, uninstall the drivers.... After, install the NEW drivers BEFORE inserting the new card (there shoudl be a CD that came with the new card)... Once the drivers are installed, turn off the computer, and insert the new card... if you did everything right, then everything should work fine!  ;)
