Title: How To Do A System Recovery On Windows XP (ASAP!!!)
Post by: breadcrumb on June 06, 2014, 04:09:00 PM
I have the 3 system recovery CDs to do this with, but can't find my instructions anywhere! I have done it before, but can't remember how I did it! ::)
I want to give this pc to my niece with all my junk cleaned off of it. She just wants it for general stuff.
I put the first recovery cd in and the pc shut down, came back on and then...nothing (and I left it alone for hours!)
I can't get my new (refurbished) pc set up until I get this one taken care of, so can someone please hurry and help me out here? ;D
I need to see if I'm going to have any problems with my new pc and get the kinks worked out on it...can hardly wait! but need this was up and ready for my sweet niece! :)
Thanks to all!

If the computer is still working well why not just clean off all the stuff you had on it and give it to her? It seems like a lot less trouble.

As it turned out, I managed to do it! YAY! Not bad for someone so crummy with a pc!
I wanted her to have a pc with no left over junk at all on it. No old file bits etc.
Now all she needs is a monitor and some speakers.
She just got married last Saturday and she and her hubby gave their laptop to her parents (my sister & bro-in-law) b/c of everything her folks had done for them and gave them. So they have no pc at all. My old one is nothing to brag about, but it can still be used to surf the web and if they add a printer, do some stuff like print coupons, etc.

Okay. Anyhow, thanks to all for their help!
