Title: How To Re-associate Programs Back To Windows XP Start Menu?
Post by: Aegis on March 27, 2012, 02:07:09 AM
I have Windows XP installed on the C: partition of my hard drive.  When I install programs, I install most of them to the drive's other partition, D:

I upgraded computer hardware to the point that I had to reinstall Windows XP to the c: partition.  (A repair of the current install was not enough to get XP to accept the new motherboard, chipset, etc.)

The problem is, of course, that now XP doesn't "see" the programs/apps which currently reside in the d: partition.  I know I can reinstall each program, but was wondering if there was a faster / easier / more elegant way to (carefully) edit the registry or somehow cause the new installation of XP to find / recognize the d:\program files directory.

I've searched on line, and haven't really found anything.

Thanks for your time!
