Title: virus?
Post by: waley on September 10, 2007, 02:25:30 PM
ok, so im new, and i have some problem and its really annoying.

k so windows security alert randomly pops up and says "windows has detected an internet attack attempt...somebody's trying to infect your PC with spyware or harmful viruses. Run full system scan now to protect your PC from internet attacks, hijacking attempts and spyware! click here to download spyware remover for total protection" and i press x except the site securepccleaner pops up and it keeps on popping up. plus, i already did a virus and spyware scan with ad aware SE personal, and mcafee. except there was nothing. plus, when my dad started to use it, later on, a biohazard sign thing went onto my desktop background and says my computer privacy is in danger. and its a link, and i cant close it.

help?

dl superantispyware spybot search and destroy boot into safe mode w/ networking. scan with all of your protections

after the  scans reboot in normal mode and dl hijackthis and post a log it might take more than one post

It sounds like a rogue program, probably winantivirus.
What is the link it wants you to click on?

Try safe mode + networking or download it with another computer then copy the file to the infected computer and install it.

Download hijackthis, put it in it's own directory, run a scan and paste the logfile in here. It may take a couple of posts to get the complete logfile.
