new motherboard is Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 cpu is AMD FX 8150 8-core came with Asetek self-contained water cooling/heatsink. I also installed 32GB RAM dual-channel, 4x8GB. Since I made these updates I've been having random freezes that seem heat related. I checked my cpu and although I can't seem to get the cpu fan speed above 580 rpm and cpu temp seems to stay around 46C/114F that shouldn't be hot enough to cause problems. When the freeze occurs my HDD light turns solid instead of it's normal blinking, so maybe it's HDD related. any sugestions appreciated. Need more info. pleae ask.

First things is to put a memory test on a booty able device. Then disconnect the HDD, boot the memory test. You want to test the memory without the HDD running.
To learn more about a bootable memory test, Google:
Bootable CD with Memtest86
Or, click here (https://www.google.com/search?q=+bootable+CD+with+Memtest86&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=sb)
With the huge memory you have, it may take awhile. Several hours.
If you get errors, try again with just two sticks of RAM.
Please come back are tell what you find.

You say you "installed" a new motherboard. Did you reinstall Windows or are you running the same Windows install that was already on your HDD? If the latter, are the motherboard and CPU identical to the ones you had before?
