When I put my computer on standby, the whole computer shuts down - and abviously that's not what's supposed to happen.
Do I need to change something within Windows or in the BIOS, if so: what exactly? ???
Thanks in advance.

Everything seems correct, at least from within Windows - I'm guessing I'll need to change something in my BIOS, but I don't know what.

Like merlin said. your hard disk and everything turns off automatically when it goes to stand by. go to:
Control Panel
Display
screen saver
power options
power schemes.
change the settings, and you should be a-okay!

You can reset the BIOS to the default values to see if that has any effect.

Thanks guys - like I said, everything is correct in the power settings. I'll try resetting the BIOS is if that does anything.

That what standby does......shuts the pc off.....to safe power........move the mouse or touch the keyboard to start it.....

I thought Standby wasn't supposed to shut the entire PC off - that's what mine does, as if I had selected Shut down instead of Standby. And it doesn't come back on by moving the mouse or touching the keyboard.
