Excellent choice of upgrades. After reading your first post those were the two first things I'd be upgrading. I think that'd be the best bang for your buck, especially if you're doing any gaming. Overall I think you've got a great system. If you haven't already you may also want to run the system through a benchmark and post your results and compare it with some of the other members to give you a better idea of how the system is doing.
-
thank you nathan and where or how do i do the benchmark run
-
See first sticky post. :)

Yeah Harry very nice build after the upgrades. Just out of interest what screen are you using and other peripherals.
I'm slowly building a new build but due to some unforseen circumstances I needed the money for other stuff. This is my build stuff that I'm going for and slowly getting. I did up for an extra HDD though to give me 1.5tb plus I have 3 externals now equalling 750gb
XFX 5830 graphics card
Core i3 530 CPU
Gigabyte H55M-UD2H board
Patriot 4GB 1333MHz RAM9
Sapphire Pure Modular 625W PSU
Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB HDD
Samsung DVDRW
Antec 300 case
Logitech G11 keyboard
Logitech MX518 mouse
Calum was a great help in picking out what was best as he is in the business.

22" hanns-g monitor
seagate external hard drive
gibabyte keyboard and mouse
i still have my old hard drive in the pc working as well so i have over 4gb
thats about it
btw ; the parts in the pc cost me £ 240.00

Is that a typo? 'Over 4gb of HDD' .... I don't think that would even cover windows 7
-
i think so is this it
Local Drive Volumes
c: (NTFS on drive 1) 500.00 GB 459.66 GB free
e: (FAT32 on drive 0) 77.44 GB 49.61 GB free
577.44 GB

Yeah that's the one. A nice healthy size of space. HDD's are not that expensive these days my 1tb drive cost only £49.00, RAM is the real money killer, so expensive.

kingston 2gb £40

kingston 2gb £40
You do get what you pay for ;)
Mine has a 3yr Warranty from Samsung.
EDIT: 2gb??
-
Warranty runs out when you leave the shop ;D , just kidding kingston is a very good make
-
But you said a 2gb??? That's extortion for £40.
-
and you are right i looked up the docket and it was £28.00 , i thought it was to high when i posted
-
my 8GB of DDR2 cost me 109$ overall. I got it as 4 2GB sticks.
if I ever upgrade to 16GB (the max for this motherboard) that is going to be very pricey (I think it was well up to costing 400$ or so maybe when I last checked)
-
very costly but if you need it go for it
