I believe the default video player in Ubuntu 11.10 is Totem but I uninstalled it and use VLC instead.
Also, you might want to check this Ubuntu help page about commercial DVDs: Why won't DVDs play? (https://help.ubuntu.com/11.10/ubuntu-help/video-dvd.html)

for 3D games like alien arena as it wont work and it is a good game or track mania u know HQ games
-
I am not familiar with those games but here are a few suggestions.
If these are Windows games, you can try to run them using a program called Wine (http://www.winehq.org/) but in my experience, you should not expect them to run as well as in Windows.
According to the Wine database, TrackMania should run well in Wine (Link (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=7064)).
In the case of Alien Arena, there seems to be a Linux version. Here are some instructions for installing it: Link (http://www.multimediaboom.com/install-alien-arena-7-51-in-ubuntu-10-10-10-04/)
