I need some help please. I think I accidentally deleted the Volume Control and now my laptop doesn't have sound. The message "No active mixer device can be found..." kept popping up. Desperate here...Please help. ???

And I'm not even sure if I'm posting at the correct section.Ahhhh!

1) Exactly what did you do just before the problem arose?
2) Open Device Manager. Do you see any yellow exclamation marks?

1) While removing programs, I accidentally removed the Volume Control from the programs.
2) At Device Manager, there is no exclamation mark but a yellow question mark under "Multimedia Audio Controller" via "Other devices".

I don't know what volume control you are talking about, but let's start by downloading and installing the device driver for your sound card.

Go to the website of your sound card manufacturer, download the correct driver for your specific card, and install it.

Look in device manager. Or you can download a third party utility such as Belarc Advisor or Aida32
