Title: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API
Post by: citygent on February 12, 2010, 08:48:57 AM
PC failed, had disk errors and corrupt version of windows.
repaired disk and reinstalled XP Pro including SP2, all good until I re-boot then I get

"Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API" and it re-boots again (and again and again.......)

This isn't the known hibernate issue that also gives the same message.
PC has 2.5 GB on board and from what I can see, good mother board, power etc

Anyone any thoughts?

Try cleaning the XP CD with a soft lint free cloth...
Try another CD...
Also try removing 1 of the RAM sticks which can then be re-installed after a succesful install...

XP loaded successfully
I have tried removing all memory sticks in different combinations with no luck
Anyone any other thoughts?

If XP loaded successfully you wouldn't have that error message...
See above.
