Title: Windows 7 max hard drive space?
Post by: timtim41 on December 07, 2009, 08:37:26 AM
Hi, I have been wanting to replace my laptops hard drive which is 80GB to like 320GB or higher, and I am just curious if there is a maximum limit for how much hard drive space Windows 7 will support. My laptop is a Dell Inspiron E1705/9400 and the current hard drive that I am using is a Fujitsu MHV2080BH SATA hard drive with 80 GB of memory. All comments are appreciated. Thanks :)

NTFS supoorts up to 2TB without any special setup per drive so you have a ways to go...

The only concern would be if the laptop was old; in this case, it's recent enough (considering it uses SATA) that all the previous BIOS hard drive size limitations have been solved and bypassed; so as long as you can plug in the hard drive the laptop should detect and use it.
