Title: Moving data from on HD to another
Post by: gifd76 on September 06, 2004, 03:01:18 PM
I have an old computer and recently put in a new HD.  There is some data that I would like to put on my new HD, but is there a way to put it on while the old one is out.  Or is there some way to piggy-back the old with the new to use it as a back up?

Also, could you do the same with a laptop HD(transfer data from a laptop HD to a desktop HD)?

gifd76.....why dont you install the new hd as a slave to the one thats in there now and then transfer the files to that one and then just use the existing one to house your operating system and programs . then once you have them on the new one .....delete them off the original drive and you will have recovered a lot of space .
