Post by: meg on December 03, 2004, 01:03:57 PM
I'm a computer dummy, I recently got a new computer with windows xp on it and I was wondering if I can use a program that was designed for windows 95 on it? Thanks in advance  :)

Try it?

Use compatability mode if you get problems.

It might, and might not. If I am correct, Windows XP is based off of NT, 2000, and 98. I have games for Nt, 2000, and 98, and most seem to work.... Give it a try...

Actually, although Windows XP is an attempt to merge the two strains of operating systems, it is based on NT and 2000 (2k is actually based on NT as well) rather than on 98. 98 is based on the 95 engine and is actually DOS in a pretty disguise.
