How many ports (front and back) do you have?  Do none of them work?  You say you enabled "legacy usb" in CMOS Setup. Are there any other USB settings in your BIOS?

If all else fails, one option to get USB is usb 2 card, PCI (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?SrchInDesc=PCI&Page=1&N=0&Submit=ENE&Nty=1&Description=usb+2+card&Ntk=all)

Does your Device Manager show a list of items under Universal Serial Bus controllers?  Does it report them as working properly?

Try this.  Open Device Manager, right click on the USB items, and Uninstall them.  Then, restart your computer and let Windows go through the Found New Hardware routine and install drivers for them.  Now, see whether your ports work.

If not, I suspect your motherboard has developed a hardware defect that is causing the problem.  In that case, the only solution, short of replacing the motherboard, is to install a PCI card, as I previously posted.

And, do you have USB devices other than the flash drive?  If not, could you borrow a USB mouse or keyboard or some other USB device and test it on your computer?
