Windows 2000 Pro SP4 on 3 pc's / 1 XP Home [doesn't have the problem] / peer-to-peer network / AVG / Adaware / no software firewalls.
Shared HP 8000 on W2KP workstation with everyone having permissions to print. Was able to add the HP to the XP box but none of the W2kP boxes can add it. Error message: "Could not connect to the printer. Access is denied".
Ideas :-?

Have you given permission to the "Everyone" user?

Hey Rob...
Yeah, that's the first thing I checked. Even added the particular user on the machine with the printer to the sharing permissions and gave her full control. I think I'll try removing/recreating her profile from the W2kP machine that has the printer.
I have to go back today to 'tidy-up' their office. I'll post back with what happens.

Problem solved: added the Authenticated User to the printer permissions. Woo-hoo ;D ;D

It's irritating how the Everyone user never quite means everyone!
