Title: BSoD/Stop screen - enethusb.sys - usb modem
Post by: IamError on January 23, 2009, 06:51:58 PM
Hello everyone,

I have been experiencing what seems to be random BSoD's due to enethusb.sys which i beleive is linked to my usb modem.

The Blue screens seem to appear at unusual times, it is not always when using the internet or even having anything to do with the device other than it just being plugged in and turned on.

INFO:

Error code 1000007e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 f79c5c12, parameter3 f7af6648, parameter4 f7af6344.

enethusb.sys

Address F79C5C12 base at F79C3000 Date Stamp 3e3b1000

Any help on how to solve this would be great!

By random i mean that one day it will not happen and then one day it will with difference in what software is used or plug and play devices are used. Its annoying because it makes a good relable PC into a unreliable one.

Did you try to reinstall the driver?

Prevx reports it as possible malware but that's not definitive enough...

So your thinking to reinstall the driver?

I can't find it on the site you linked me to. The model is 4100/4200.

No, you're not blind...
Actually you will not find it on Siemens driver website because according to Siemens: The 4100 Ethernet model works with any Ethernet equipped PC, regardless of operating system.

Yeah see thats what annoys me because i have been using it (usb wise) in my laptop for a year no problems, (i use the ethernet cable for the PC) anywho recently it has been causing BSoD's at times that don't seem normal.

Maybe my USB ports have had the Richard, sometimes things disconnect with only a small movement, but something just disconnecting shouldn't cause a blue screen anyway...

Maybe i should just buy a ethernet hub and be done with the usb version you think?

It may be worth to try. Definitely, there is something wrong there.
