I have a better system build thanks to computeruler. I would just like to know if I would also need a hard drive enclosure.

I would get rid of the sound card and get vista. Get an internal hdd too. Also, why get it there?  Why not use newegg?

Well Fry's because it is close and I do not want to deal with shipping. I also want XP because to me it is easier to use.

Well, when I got to Fry's I could ask where everything is and if they are best... which I guess is what you are doing for me right now... What kind of rig would YOU build with $1000?

Definitely with the OS and with a monitor under $200 preferrably over 20"

Dont complain about it being vista.  Its good and you should be able to go from xp to it fine, plus you get a free windows 7 upgrade.
