Title: System 32 folder opens on startup
Post by: cobberhead on July 01, 2006, 08:13:13 PM
When I start up my pc my system 32 folder always open's after desktop loads, any ideas on how to stop this? I just did a system recovery this evening, uninstalled all the bundled junk, installed firewall and antivirus and ran all updates. Thank You.

Did it do it before the system restore or just after?

What I did was a system recovery. The problem started after running all the windows updates.

I've actually heard of this happening though I'm not quite sure of the cause. Check msconfig(Start -> Run -> msconfig) for any startup entries that might cause this. If nothing is showing up there you could also check startup's using a program called autoruns from Sysinternals (http://www.sysinternals.com). It shows all startup items and files there. Good program to check out for an in depth look at your system startup.
