Yes lots. PCI-E has a far greater data bandwidth than PCI.
How about a GeForce GTX 480 @ $400 Or a GeForce GTX 570 @ $350 [Check your power supply first!]
They're apparently the 2nd & 3rd best GPU's at the moment. (Performance wise that is, stability, power consumption & heat dissipation I have no idea about).

sorry i wasnt able to answer havent been home for over a week
thanks for your reply, i will consider these
i just browsed through amazon's selection and saw this one (gtx 550): http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-PCI-Express-Graphics-01G-P3-1556-KR/dp/B004R9OVE6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1300699920&sr=8-1-spell
how come a newer version of a video card (gtx 550) costs almost half as this older version (gtx 480)?
id also like to ask what traits one should take into account when picking a graphic card for gamers? (and how will this trait improve my gaming experience?)
