Title: harddrive is not detected

hi
my harddrive is not be detected as i install windows 2000 pro or windows xp
how can i solve this problem
everything is working fine but the harddrive.

Are the wires connected properly? Have you assigned whether that hard disk is the slave or master?

All the cables are connected properly...i tried downloading the drivers and stuff from seagate but the system still wont install cause its doesnt detect the drive

Does that mean ...that after you install the o/s the drive isn't seen or do you mean that during the installation it isnt being seen ........You need to be very clear on the issue.......

Just a few questions for you .......
What o/s was installed on this drive win 2000 pro or win xp or were you dualbooting ? Did you properly format ?
Did you successfully Fdisk the drive ?
Have you set the partition (s) as active ?
Are you using a boot disk to reload the o/s ?
